in-home services provide vulnerable families with comprehensive
services aimed at keeping families together. Services are provided
by caring and dedicated staff at times conducive to helping families
while they meet the increasing challenges of parenting and self-sufficiency.
- Truancy Prevention Programs: Preparing Kids for Academic Success
Under the umbrella of Truancy Programs, there are four separate programs designed to assist
families & children succeed in school. All of our programs are based within the Northwest region
of Philadelphia. Each program seeks to address both the immediate barriers to truancy &
delinquency, as well as the core issues that can signal deep problems within a family: poverty,
unemployment, serious medical problems, mental health issues, substance abuse, child abuse and neglect. Currently, PathWays PA Truancy Programs is actively working with students in the following Northwest
Region Schools: AB Day, Cooke, J. Dobson, FS Edmonds, Ellwood, Fulton, Germantown HS, Hill-Freedman, Howe,
JB Kelly, King HS, Kinsey, Leeds, Lewis, Mifflin, Pastorius, Pennypacker, Pennell, Prince Hall, Rowen, Saul AVT,

- Services to
Children in their Own Homes (SCOH)
providing in-home services
to low-income families, referred by the DHS, including assessment,
counseling, case management, parenting, employment/education referral,
basic life skills including nutrition and home management, and
access to community resources to meet family needs. This program, which targets cases of sexual abuse,
seeks to reinforce newly-learned patterns of problem solving,
stress management and positive child rearing to ensure the safety
